Remembering Greece: Some Pictures of Naxos

Before I start writing about my Greek trip, I'd like to share some pictures first. To give you an idea of how wonderful these places are… Here a first glimpse of Naxos...

To Reminisce

Every day life has a way to just … suck you in.
On the one hand I am glad about it because, you know, all the stuff about living in the moment and not in the past?? SIGH
On the other hand though, sometimes, just for a bit, I would love to keep on reminiscing … about past days spent on magic Greek islands DEEPER SIGH
If it weren't for every day life and its ways :-)
Oh well, it is what it is.
I am lucky enough to have this blog to indulge in past days spent on magic Greek islands (ahahah)

10 days spent traveling from one Greek island to another summarized:
  • Out of the three islands I visited, the one I liked less was Paros. Not that I didn't like it, it's just that I liked NAXOS and SIFNOS soooooooooooooooo much more
  • 10 travel days = 10 sunny days
  • 10 travel days = 9 windy days (and I mean smaller ferries were stuck in the ports for days kind of windy)
  • I love Greece
  • I will have to go back

Go With Your Heart

Confucius (apparently) once said that: WHEREVER YOU GO, GO WITH ALL YOUR HEART.

I certainly I went on a 10 day trip to Greece with all of my heart! I traveled from Athens to Naxos, onwards to Sifnos, to Paros, then back to Athens with a very happy heart! What amazing places!

I am certainly not a person who dreams about "the good old times" but whenever I travel in Greece, I try to imagine how these places must have been like, looked like, felt like 30/40 years ago.
Before we had something called over-tourism. Before the cruise ships. Before the low cost airlines.
It's WOW these days, but experience them as they were? It must have been W O W!!
And by that I mean wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwww (ahahahah)

I will sort out all my pictures in the next couple of days and share some with you … and share some memories as well.

Role Models

Did you have role models in your life?

When asked this question last week I first felt at loss.
Have I had role models in my life?

Nothing came to mind.

What I certainly had were people who helped me.
So many of them!
Some people helped me with lending a hand or an ear (and sometimes money).
Others helped with giving their time or a place to stay or a job.
Others helped with walking with me, loving me the way I am, supporting even my craziest ideas.
And I could go on and on.

Today I feel like thanking all these people that helped me so much. I want to put it out there:

September Wish

I don't know about you but me, during summertime, I'm not much into cleaning or tidying up. I do what's strictly necessary and enjoy my time off doing other things.
Then, in September with its first cooler days, I catch up. Not only cleaning or tidying up my appartment but also going through my stuff, giving some of it away (like clothes) or throwing other things away.
This year more so, I have no idea why. But it makes me feel good and that's reason enough for me.

Adieu Summer

It's September first, my dears!
Summer went by so fast, don't you think so, too? And it's already time to say goodbye to my hashtag #summertimeismyfavoritetime, too!
What an awesome experience it has been to post something (almost) every day. Writing every day allowed me to channel my thoughts (that are usually quite … mmmh, let's say lively?? hahaha). Thank you for reading me so regularly!
With my upcoming trip to Greece I don't feel too sad to say adieu to summertime (yet), therefore, let's keep it simple:
